Almost BTS!

This is a project I created with my Cricut. I thought it would be a great gift for a teacher friend of mine. I used the Expression to cut the large bushel basket and apples. I attached the apples to jumbo popsicle sticks with classroom jobs listed on the back. The students 'pick' an apple to reveal their weekly job. The basket and the apples is from Doodlecharms.

Happy 4th of July!

Time for some creating! It seems that it has been so long since I have been able to do anything scrap/papercrafting related. I made these cards for a July Card Swap. The cardstock is Bazzil and I don't remember the pattern paper. The letters are Sizzix. I have every Cricut cart out there and I still drag out my trusted Sizzix all the time. You just can't give up on an old friend. Hope everyone has a safe and 'sane' 4th of July!

Whew! What a Month!

Sorry for neglecting my little scrappy spot. It has been a tense, angst filled month getting my oldest daughter ready to graduate. On top of that, my 'puter crashed taking all of my files, fonts, favorites and financials down with it! I couldn't even remember my password to get into my blog! All will be returning to normal soon and I will be posting Graduation pics soon!
Thanks all!

Another day, another card!

I created this little cutie for a co-worker who is under the weather. The paper is DCWV summer glitter stack. The border punch is Fiskars, flowers are Prima. I used my trusty Bics to color him in with a bit of purple stickles for the flower centers. I love Hedgies!

Spring Break is over!

They were so much easier to travel with when they were younger! Teenagers! I can see why some species eat their young!
My daughters and I just spent 4 days in north San Diego county. Our hotel overlooked the ocean in Carlsbad. The
weather ranged from gray and drippy to
bright and sunny. Their moods ranged about the same! How can you go to the
beach and want to spend all day indoors?
Not on my watch. We went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park, the flower fields, Scripp's Aquarium, the beach, and several scrap and stamp stores. It was a bittersweet 'girlie' adventure. My oldest daughter graduates this year so this might be the last mom and daughters trip for a while.

These little chirpers were goodies I made for a crop that we had over the weekend. We had a great time chatting, laughing, eating, and oh yeah, scrapping! The birdie stamp is Studio G colored with Bic Mark its, the punches are Marvy Uchida 2" circle and 2.5 scalloped circle, the cardstock is Bazzil and the ribbon is from Michael's. I'm really liking getting into other paper crafts.

Springtime Friend

This little ducky is just too adorable. He was stamped and colored by my friend Megan so I don't know who he is.( http://peacockpaperie.blogspot.com )
You can check out Megan's fabulous paper crafts on her page! The paper is DCWV Sweet Stack , border punch is MS, and pearls are Colorbok. I really becoming obsessed with card making...this could be dangerous!

Early for St. Patty's!

This is a card I am working on for a swap. Since I am fairly new to card making, I am relying on scraplifting frequently! The pattern paper is DCWV Spring stack, Bazill cardstock, Martha Stewart shamrock punch and CK Fraternity font. I think I need to add some ribbon to it to finish it off.

A Little Late for Valentines...

I have just recently come over to the 'dark side' of card making. I have resisted the temptation for years because scrapping absorbs enough of my energies. However, when you have a friend that is an incredibly talented paper artist, the vibe is just too strong to resist! This was my first card swap attempt. The monkey is a QK die and the paper is from an old DCWV Stack. I used the Martha Stewart Cornice border punch and Cat's eye ink. Inside it says, "Who's your monkey?"

Our Graduate

This is our first 'child' to graduate...our 7 monthe lab puppy, Coco Chanel! She passed her first 8 weeks of puppy school without a hitch. Next, its on to graduate puppy classes!

I created this cute little bug bouquet for my friend for Valentine's Day. The flowers and bug head were created using the Cricut machine. The flowers are from 'Walk in My Garden' and the bug head was created using 'George'. The patterned papers are from my stash as well as the ribbon. I love this lil' guy so much now I need to make another one for me!

Here goes Nothing!

I have always wanted to be a "blogger", but I have never thought any wisdom or knowledge I could impart would be of any interest to anyone. My kids must think I am a comedienne because they are always laughing at me...(we're laughing with you, mom...) My students think I am a classical radio station...they tune me out! I have decided to throw caution to the wind and claim this little spot on the web as my own...think of me as a cyber 'homesteader". Hopefully, some of you might think what I have to say is entertaining or at least mildly amusing. Some of you may nod you head in agreement...others will nod in astonishment (they'll let anyone have a blog, won't they!) Maybe some of you will even come back from time to time to see what "Smartcookie" has to say today...maybe not.... Thanks for reading thus far......And away we go!
